 I personally like it more than all pens I've ever made. I've been making pens since 2013, so that's saying alot! 

This current version is a Beta Test, and has Copper button parts which has only ever been made from Brass.  The rest of the pen has been proven over time to work great.  I appreciate you supporting me on new designs and willing to do the testing for me!

I have also made a few all Brass buttons available separately, these have been proven to be plenty durable.

As always, no ink is included.  This pen is designed for G2 ONLY.

BOLT PEN INFORMATION

INK NOT INCLUDED (No refill comes with)

This Bolt Pen has been a work in progress over the last couple months. We have already done an Alpha test run, and I took the feedback from that and made this version (BETA TEST) even better!  

Adjustability:

The Bolt Pen is fully adjustable so it can fit many refills. The pen comes setup for a PILOT G2 Refill which is NOT included (Link Below).  It comes with an extra spring that you may want to use for different refills.  Feel free to tear apart cheap plastic pens and try their springs if you want less spring pressure (or more, I guess).  You can also cut the stock spring and stretch it out to make it just right.  It also comes with a longer screw that you can use for shorter refills such as Parker length refills.  Just stick a 7/64" Hex Key up inside and unscrew the short screw from the bottom of the bolt, drop in the long screw and screw in.  *Note the long screw will not need to be screwed in until it stops! (In the Alpha and Beta versions the screw is allowed more room than it needs, This will be changed in future versions.) 

Every refill I've tried works, but they all have their quirks.  Energel for instance needs the raised letters on the tube sanded/scraped off, as I couldn't factor in that tolerance when making these.  It will work if you don't... but it's not as smooth feeling.  Also the Plastic on the tip of the Energel is what controls tip wiggle, NOT the metal. As the metal is smaller than G2/Parker.  If I made it so the metal controls the tip wiggle, then G2/Parker wouldn't even fit... and the pen is made for G2/Parker.  So the Energel needs more stick out to prevent tip wiggle. ( I machined a hole specifically for Energel just to be nice to Energel Fans)  Just unscrew the screw on the bolt talked about above until you have the tip wiggle under control. (It doesn't take much, 1/4 Turn maybe with the stock short screw) Other refills like the Sharpie refill work great (my favorite Ink actually) but the end of the plastic needs shaved at an angle to smoothly work and not catch in the tip. Sharpie refill is similar to Energel in that the plastic on the tip is what controls Tip Wiggle. 


Want a clip?

The clip is not included, it's the same clip that was used on the Click Pen.  Alpha and Beta Test pens work with a clip, but the rear cap isn't really the greatest for using a clip. (It's hard to get tight.) A new rear cap is in the works, and you can always upgrade at a later time. Majority of people didn't buy a clip during the Alpha test, because the bolt handle will stop the pen from rolling off your desk.

PARKER CLICK PEN INFORMATION


My Ink Pens are fully custom from top to bottom; made by me, in my garage.

I have put a lot of time and effort into this, completely designing the click mechanism from the ground up. Many of you watched this come to life over a few weeks in stories. You seen the trial and error and even joined in the Beta Test group, so thank you for making this possible!

This pen was originally made for the Fisher sized refill and it also fit a DSM 2006 Mechanical pencil insert, that was the Beta Tester size.  Over time I moved to Parker Sized, which is about 3/8" longer than Fisher. So the DSM 2006 no longer works.  People wanted a longer pen with more ink options, so I delivered.  You can still use Fisher ink in a Parker size pen, as they come with an adapter to make them Parker length.  The size will be be listed as the available options.

The button can be taken apart very easily, however there is a 1/32" ball bearing inside it that can be lost instantly.  So if you do this, please have a magnet handy to catch the ball for safe keeping.  I sell magnets as well ;)

The button is greased to help with lubrication, but also to help the ball stay in the housing upon assembly/disassembly.  Since the button is made of metal, it will require some periodic maintenance, generally you can just add some grease without taking it apart.  I use a food safe grease, but you can use whatever you have. At times depending on the environment, you may need to take it apart and fully clean everything.

My pens are DESK PENS only, this isn't a construction pen. The click button is very delicate compared to a TK INK.  If you drop my pen on it's button, you will probably be here buying a replacement button.  If you want a pen you can abuse and it just keep on ticking, you will need to buy a "TK INK" from TacticalKeychains.com > CLICK HERE

These Pens do not come with a refill/insert, as there are just too many brands and colors to choose from. Below are a list of refills that will work with your pen, be sure to pay attention to the pen size when ordering. There are plenty of other brand refills that fit these sizes. I'm just linking a few from Amazon below.  I do get a very small commission if you purchase using my links.  Don't be afraid to modify ink refills, by cutting them shorter, or adding some type of spacer to the back of the refill. 3D printers are great for this, but sometimes a small balled up piece of paper will do just fine.

This is my new favorite pen. I have used this pen everyday since I have received it. I have been using a Sharpie S-Gel refill in the one. I’m using the spring from inside the bag with the other screw. I like the force it provides. The bolt is a great fidget and the bur at the bottom on the bolt slide has became much less noticeable after use.
